NIALL DOWNING Director

DETAIL

After a Fine Art and English degree Niall began freelance running for advertising production companies in Soho. A chance meeting got him hired by Chris Evans to work on Channel 4’s infamous Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush, followed by TFI Friday (writing and cutting video inserts for the show).

After documentary making experience at the BBC's Music & Arts department he moved to TalkBack Productions writing and directing his first long-form show, Grand Designs (Channel 4), which was Bafta nominated. Niall went on to direct a series of the Naked Chef (also Bafta nominated) and after a period directing comedy shows (Daisy Daisy and Ricky Gervais Meets...) he began directing commercials. He has created campaigns for clients including Harrods, Sainsbury's, PokerStars, Santander, Hovis, Anorexia Awareness and Toyota. His work has been awarded by D&AD, BTAA, the APA 50 and the Creative Circle, among others.
